I do know that it is a little early to tell, but after 3 impressive performances in succession, is Aaron Lennon finally starting to repay Tottenham Hotspur for keeping him all of these years.
Aaron joined Spurs in the 05/06 season and since has average around 3 or 4 goals and 6 or 7 assists per season. This seasons tally has not lived up to his average notching up thisgoal and 5 assists. Although the assits tally is just below average I think that Aaron should be contributing a lot more than he has been doing. I think that 6 or 7 goals should be a target and 9 or 10 assists per season. He may not reach this but a least he should be aiming high.
This next point is something I have only really noticed this season is that once he has beaten 1 or 2 men, generally with pace, he does not quite know what to do with the ball next. He seems to stop and hesitate and mostly end up losing the ball. But in recent games, Aaron has been quicker in making decisions and a lot more effective than before. Which explains that 3 of his 5 assits have come in the last 3 games.
But hold your horses! Aaron had a short spell like this at Christmas, where he had 1 goal and 2 assists in 3 games. Let's just hope that Lennon can continue this form until the end of the season and through to next season.
